Open Special Issue on Green Mobile Computing and IoT Systems. Assessment, Modeling, Assurance

Call for papers

Information and communication technologies (ITs) and IT-based systems are, on the one side, a mean for energy systems and grids monitoring, control and instrumentation, power low management and safety ensuring. On the other side, IT-based systems, networks and infrastructures are weighty consumers of energy and other resources.

The most challengeable IT domains which can be called energy or power consumption critical are mobile and Internet of Things (IoT) systems. For such systems time of autonomous operation is extremely important. The same challenge is key for on-board software or FPGA based devices and systems for human, transport, space and other industry applications. Development of green software and green computing is a hot trend of IT engineering as a whole.

The primary purpose of the special issue is to discuss these problems. We would like to invite researchers, developers, experts on green IT engineering, mobile and IoT technologies to submit development and implementation techniques, methods and tools for assessment, optimization and improving of energy, power and resource as a whole related characteristics of embedded and distributed systems.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Green IT engineering methodology for mobile and IoT computing
  • Energy critical systems and modulated computing
  • Development techniques and tools for green computing
  • Experiments and analysis of smartphone energy, performance and operation
  • Green logic and programmable logic devices design and testing
  • Energy efficient FPGA- and SW-based embedded systems
  • Adaptive wireless networking for energy effective systems
  • Smart grid safety and security assessment and assurance
  • Green and smart building systems based on IoT and mobile technologies
  • Foresight-research for development and application of mobile and IoT systems
  • Educational issues of green computing and communication
  • University and IT-industry cooperation in energy critical domains

It is our pleasure to invite you to submit your paper for publication in the Special Issue on Green Mobile Computing and IoT Systems. Assessment, Modeling, Assurance at the International Journal of Computing, www.computingonline.net.

The paper has to be submitted in electronic form as a MS Word file. It must begin with a short abstract and keywords. It must end with a brief biography (education, position and scientific interests) and a photo of each author. Complete author’s guidelines are available at http://computingonline.net/files/journals/1/template-1.doc. The typical paper length is 8-10 pages but it could be extended if necessary.

Deadlines:

•    Paper submission deadline   – October 15, 2019

Papers are published upon acceptance, regardless of the Special Issue publication date.

Submission is closed.
